We sent away for our ants a couple weeks before we did the unit on Truman's Aunt Farm. They finally came this weekend. We have been watching them work. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to have them do any worksheets or activities about ants.
OH ants! That looks so fun. We tried that once. Either we had to "set them free" or they set themselves free, but we had fun feeding them.
I also had Sea Monkeys once. Of course they're really brine shrimp, but it gave me such a kick to watch them swish about in their tiny tank. We even got to watch the second generation's eggs hatch. And then the alpha male ate everyone.
